Renesas RL78 devices have On-Chip debug security ID setting area. The values programmed to this device memory area are compared to the bytes values set in the winIDEA. If these two do not match, you get different effects when trying to debug this device like:
1. Enable Demo Mode via Tools menu / Demo Mode.
2. Download and check the downloaded values on memory addresses:
3. Set the same values in the On-chip debug Unlock ID code field in the Hardware / CPU options / SoC dialog.
