Multi-core debugging issues

09-Oct-2023

Each MCU core is controlled by a separate winIDEA instance, which offers a convenient view of all cores of interest side-by-side. While operating with two or more winIDEA instances, issues can occur.

Check whether you have:
  • Opened a workspace for a specific Core from the primary winIDEA instance via Debug / Core / CPUn?  Do not open it from a Windows directory.
  • Opened a TRD file from winIDEA instance via View / Analyzer <.trd>?  Do not open it from a Windows directory.
  • Specified the correct ELF file in the primary winIDEA instance in Debug / Configure Session / SoC / Program Files section with debug symbols for each winIDEA instance.
  • Changed the source files in the process of debugging.
