winIDEA with XCP

24-Dec-2021

XCP can be used with winIDEA as a:

  • winIDEA XCP Slave plugin or
  • winIDEA XCP Master.

winIDEA XCP Slave plugin

Master applications (e.g., Vector CANoe, CANape) can communicate via an XCP protocol with winIDEA and/or BlueBox. All microcontrollers, supported by the iSYSTEM tools, can be handled by the XCP plugin.

Features are:

  • Synchronous data acquisition (DAQ)
  • Direct memory access (polling)
  • Online memory calibration (read / write access)
  • Time stamped data transfer
  • Generation of event timestamps by the ECU/Emulator
  • A2L file generation

winIDEA XCP Master

winIDEA communicates with the BlueBox via XCP protocol with Plug-on Device (POD) by the measurement/calibration (MC) tool vendor (or from any provider that implements an XCP Slave according to the standard). The POD connects via a debug interface (e.g., DAP, JTAG) to the target ECU. The communication between host computer and POD is performed via XCP over Ethernet. Almost all winIDEA features provided in a similar winIDEA/BlueBox configuration (debug, flash, on-chip trace etc.)Infineon AURIX TC2xx, TC3xx, and Power Architecture MPC5xx.
