Infineon AURIX: Pinpoint the cause of the last MCU reset via RCU plugin
RCU is a separate window of the SoC AURIX plugin which displays a list of RCU registers with according value and description. It is an user-friendly representation of the reset configuration and last reset source information.
Possible solution
1. Make sure debug session is established.
2. Open View / Aurix / RCU.
In this example, the last reset happened because of a software triggered reset, which can help you pinpoint the exact function in your source code that is initiating it. As you can see, RSTSTAT.SW bit is set.
